James Glass - Under The Influence Volume Three A Collection Of Rare Soul & Disco (2013) 2 CD
CD1 CD2
We're under the influence of a mighty groove – thanks to the sweet sounds on this massive set – a 2CD treasure trove of rare dancefloor tracks – and one that definitely goes past the obvious! Previous volumes in the great series focused mostly on disco and boogie – but this time around, there's also a nice dose of global sounds too – including bits of Latin and reggae mixed in with more familiar late 70s soulful modes – all of which makes for a killer set of music throughout! There's a huge amount of tracks here we've never heard before – which has made the set as educational for us as it has been groovy – and titles include "Same Routine" by Eleanor Mills, "I Would Have To Be A Fool" by Ben, "Nervoso" by Rexy, "Pretty Little Girl" by Attitude, "Three Way Situation (James Glass edit)" by Nadie La Fond, "Do The Beat" by Sweet Talks, "Spin" by The Impossible Dreamers, "Rather You Than Me" by Broken Glass, "Afro Funky" by Manteca, "Do It Anyday" by Harold Butler, "Gentle Persuasion" by Doug Hream Blunt, "Beautiful People (inst)" by Robbie Cee, and "Come & Dance With Me" by Sapphire.
